This is the place where Soul People meet. An unlikely venue in an East Coast town. Yet once a year, it somehow seems so right.
It's the place that's enriched the UK Soul Scene with quality grooves for the past 15 years. Never afraid to break new ground...
without selling out or trying to be 'upfront'...just for the sake of it. But it keeps on striving.
It's a celebration of Soul. Where the Heroes are the artists behind the music. Where Real Soul is centre stage, not 'hived off' from the
main room into some distant 'connoisseurs corner'. The 'Soul Weekender' is now an institution. Who knows, some day, every coastal resort may have one!
No worries. We come to Yarmouth because it's the real deal. No short cuts. No half measures.
This is the place where all decades are catered for. Where it's not just what's in the grooves that counts, but what comes through the sound system.
With a magnificent catalogue of over 40 years of Music at our disposal, it's where the DJ's can go out on a limb, to deliver that forgotten oldie,
the unplayed masterpiece or the hot new download...
that happens to meet the standard. All this, quite rightly, for the unique and appreciative Essence crowd.
It's a place that takes the cream from the crop. And egos are put to one side. If only for the weekend! It's the first date in next year's diary.
The place where like minded people can feel at home...and in good company. It's true. I Love Soul Essence. Never missed one yet. And I'm sure I never will.
Respect and Congratulations to all… and roll on the next 25.
